YakLead Tideline Kayak Leash

No-Drill Kayak Leash

The YakLead Tideline is the first professional grade, heavy duty kayak leash multi-tool of it's design available on the market. This tool is designed to apply LEVERAGE. It’s simple, yet functional design, is combined with high strength long lasting materials, to create an essential multi-tool that all paddlers and personal water craft users need. Lash the Tideline to the bow of your kayak where it can be used to launch, land, port, stabilize, stand assist, wading, tow, kayak rescue, equipment retention and more.

The first and last kayak leash that you’ll need or want to use.

NICK ADAMS, YakLead Inventor: In 2016, I invented the YakLead Tideline Kayak Leash. In 2020, I put it in production and available for purchase. As a kayak angler, I needed a strong and reliable leverage point for portage and stand assist. And there weren’t any options available at the time. Before this time, kayak leashes were a few feet long and would clip to a footman loop, which was secure to the hull with two small screws. The metal in these leashes is cheap and low quality. This not only required kayakers to drill into their hulls, but this leverage point is not as strong as it needs to be. To much force applied to a plastic hull mounted footman loot can result in failure and damge.

Why the YakLead Tideline?

EASE OF USE – The YakLead Timeline is designed to be quickly LASHED to itself to provide a rock solid leverage point quickly and with one hand. It can quickly be lashed to any kayak handle on the boat, and just as quickly removed by pulling the tag end back through the loop. This minimalist design is both highly functional, practical and affordable.

STEALTH – When kayak leashes contain hardware, such as buckles and rings, will knock against the hull creating unwanted sound. Metal hardware is also heavy in the water and will sink. The YakLead is design to be light weight and float at the surface of the water where it can be seen and grabbed.

STRENGTH – The YakLead Tideline is constructed of high strength material that gives it over 1000lbs of test strength. The thread used in the box stitching is also made of the same high strength material. Box stitches are also used to provide strength. This leash will not fail because you or your kayak will never exceed 1000lbs in weight. There are few situations where you’ll need this much strength. This makes it the perfect stand assist, dock line or tow line. Need to leave your kayak secured on the water’s edge or dock over while you’re away, secure it with a YakLead Tideline and rest assured that no natural force will pull it loose.

STAND ASSIST – The YakLead Tideline is sized specifically so that it can be reached from a sitting position from ANY kayak. Loop it to your hand and use it to stand in your kayak. The YakLead is 1 inch thick so that it will not bite into your hand, causing pain or injury, like a thinner line. Such as 550 paracord or rope. The YakLead provides enough strength and leverage to stand and sit in a kayak, in a controlled manner.

SECURITY – The YakLead Tideline is designed with several clipping locations for gear and carabiners. Approaching a rapid and need to secure your dry bag to something incase of a capsize? No problem, simply clip your bag to the Yaklead and don’t worry about it. The drybag and it’s contents will be attached to the kayak after a flip or roll. Or clip the YakLead Tideline to another boat, dock, piling or more to secure the vessel. It’s long enough to give room for the “motion in the ocean.”

SELF RESCUE – The best feature of the YakLead Tideline is that it can save your life in a bad situation. If you are alone on the water and/or do not have help readily available and flip out of your kayak in deep turbulent water, you may find it very difficult to get back into the kayak. For example, this is a risk that big water and ocean anglers take every time they set up. Do they have a plan for recovery? Do you? Fishing kayaks can be heavier than 80lbs, 90lbs, 100lbs or more. If it’s upside down in the water, can you right it? With the YakLead Tideline, you have THE BEST TOOL FOR RIGHTING A CAPSIZED KAYAK. First it’s important to STAY WITH you kayak once you fall in. Do this by holding onto the YakLead. Then remove the YakLead from the bow of your kayak and lash it to a side handle, throw over the capsized kayak, from the other side, step in the loop, push with your legs and pull with your arms and the kayak will roll back over. With 1000lb+ of strength, you have the tool that you need to rescue yourself without failure. Then preform a re-entry maneuver.
